Product of the Month : Black Garlic

Black garlic is obtained from fresh garlic (Allium sativum L.) that has been fermented for a period of time at a controlled high temperature (6090C) under controlled high humidity (8090%). When compared with fresh garlic, black garlic does not release a strong offensive flavor owing to the reduced content of allicin. Enhanced bioactivity of black garlic compared with that of fresh garlic is attributed to its changes in physicochemical properties. Studies concerning the fundamental findings of black garlic, such as its production, bioactivity, and applications, have thus been conducted.

Black Garlic was known for its antioxidant, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic properties.

Detox Elixir ala Michelle Organic Corner

After indulging on delicious food during the holiday season, now is the perfect time to jumped start the New Year with a clean, healthy body! The flavor of the apple cider vinegar tend to be strong, therefore it might be an acquired taste for some. We recommend drinking the detox elixir first thing in the morning after waking-up and before going to bed.

What we need:

  • 4 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon honey
  • teaspoon raw green tea powder
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 4 cups kangen water
  • cup fresh mint leaves
  • Serves 2-4

Steps, steps, steps:
Infused the fresh mint leaves in the kangen water for 1 night. Keep in refrigerator. Add apple vinegar, honey, green tea powder and lemon juice into mint water. Mix well. Serve in individual cups and garnish with mint leaves.

Raw Vegan Coconut Banana Pudding with Chia Seed

Easy and healthy snack to go! Best consume immediately after making.

What we need:

  • 4 ripe banana (with black dots visible)
  • 4 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoon of coconut meat, add as needed
  • 2 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 4 teaspoon chia seed
  • Coconut Flakes and acai berry powder, optional
  • Serves 2

Steps, steps, steps:
Blend banana, fresh lemon juice, coconut meat and oil together using blender until smooth. Mix in chia seed. Garnish with coconut flakes and acai berry powder. Refrigerate for 1 hour and serve immediately.

Lavender Infused Water

Because drinking water before bed is key to a quality sleep!

What we need:

  • 2 cups of dried lavender flowers
  • 8 cups of water

* Serves gallon

Steps, steps, steps:

  1. Place your choice of infusing ingredients in a large container with a lid. Top off with the water, secure the lid, and give the contents a good shake.
  2. For intensely flavored infused water, place the container of water in full sun for 5 to 8 hours, depending on how robust a flavor you wish to achieve. The longer you let the ingredients steep, the more intense the flavor. (A glass container is ideal for doing a sun infusion, as the suns rays can best penetrate and warm such a vessel. Be warned that the water may take on some of the color of the infusing ingredient.) For mildly flavored infused water, place the container of water in the refrigerator for 5 to 8 hours, depending on how robust a flavor you wish to achieve. The longer you let the ingredients steep, the more intense the flavor.

Homemade relaxing lavender handsoap

Perfect addition to your bathroom!

What we need:

  • Container to hold your soap (an old glass jar/mason jar)
  • 6 tbs of unscented liquid Castille soap
  • 2 tbs of vegetable glycerine
  • 5 drops of lavender essential oils
  • 2 drops of sweet orange essential oils (optional)
  • 2 cups of water

* Serves 2 cups

Steps, steps, steps:

  1. In the container, combine the Castile soap, glycerin, and essential oil.
  2. Top with the water and gently mix. Keep at room temperature. You may need to stir to recombine prior to using and when scrubbing messy pots and pans you may need to use a touch more soap.
